I went to Beaux-Arts, and graduated with a degree in Illustration.
I’m working both in traditional and in digital media. I love to use acrylics, oil pastels, pencils and collage. I love to feel the material in my hands. However most of the time I use digital tools for my assignments. I’m working with Photoshop; It’s easier for me because I can make changes very easily when my commissioners ask for revisions. I also like to combine traditional and digital. I think it adds to the personal style of the piece.
I have two sides of me. A dark side, and a more whimsical one. Yes, whimsical, childish, fresh and colourful, that’s how people describe my illustrations for children. For a long time, I wanted to have only one style, only one way of drawing. Lately I realized that is impossible for me. I lived painful moments in my life, my emotions are very strong, both in the good way and the bad one. Sometimes I have that depressive mood that we all hate. So my drawings, even if they seem to be very different, are a part of me, between the light and the darkness. Sometimes I think I’m between an illustrator and a painter. An illustrator for all the commissioned things and the commercial side of it, and a painter for the internal feelings that sometimes lead you to create something visceral.
In my free time, I love to take photographs with my digital camera, my holga, or my little silly brownie :)
